-A A +A
By Nancy Archer

Please come to the blood drive Thursday, Jan. 15. The Florida’s Blood Center bloodmobile will be at the Clubhouse from 7:45 a.m. to noon.

The supply is low and the need is great. For more information, call Jackie George at 873-3609.

Cherrywood Breakfast

The next Cherrywood breakfast will be Saturday, Jan. 17, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Juice, fruit cup, French toast, sausage, coffee and tea is $3 per person.

Larry and the crew still need a few more extra helping hands so we can rotate volunteers each month. For tickets, see Geri at the office or Nancy Archer at Bingo.

Ladies Luncheon

Don’t forget to mark you calendar for next month’s Ladies Luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at noon. Just bring a covered dish to share.

Country Western Dance

Come out to the Clubhouse for a fun night of country music and mingle with friends and neighbors. We’re having a country western dance Saturday, Jan. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m. Rich Becotte will present the tunes.

Democratic Club

The Cherrywood Democratic Club will welcome Sheriff Ed Dean to its next meeting Jan. 16. Meet our reelected sheriff and he will answer your questions about fighting crime in the community.

As a board member of the Salvation Army, Children’s Advocacy Center, Florida Sheriff’s Association, United Way of Marion County, National Cargo Theft Task Force, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, and County Children’s Alliance he will update us on community police work and his goal to continually reduce crime.

We ask that you remember the young people serving our country and make a donation toward their needs through the Support Our Soldiers committee.

Voter registration cards are available if you want to register or change party affiliation.

The Cherrywood Democratic Club meets monthly on the third Friday at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse. For more information, call Harriet Scarpino at 873-9955.

Cherrywood Bingo

We have new games and bigger prizes at Cherrywood bingo. Get to know your neighbors and have a Thursday night filled with fun from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clubhouse.

Get there early. Jackpot goes off every week, no more waiting. Jackpots start at $100. Cost to play is $6 each week.

Travel Club

There are a lot of new day trips, and few overnighters, to choose from this year. Fliers for all trips are in the Clubhouse. Get your name in the Travel Club book if you want to go.
